ArDrive Guide on Creating Permanent Websites with 1W3, ENS and Arweave
ArDrive's Initiative
ArDrive has developed a resource to guide users in creating permanent websites using ArDrive and setting them up with Ethereum Name Service (ENS).
You can get started on their dedicated site, which provides step-by-step instructions for uploading and hosting a website on Arweave.
1W3's Role
1W3, a separate entity, has created a tool now available on Arweave. This tool is instrumental in supporting the resolution of .eth domains with Arweave content hash. The integration of ENS with Arweave content hash allows for seamlessly linking decentralized domain names with permanent web hosting solutions.
By combining the power of each gear in the Arweave ecosystem, we end up with results like these. ArDrive and the tool created by 1W3 collectively enhance the Web3 infrastructure, and will helps allow users to leverage the permanence and security of Arweave for their websites, while maintaining the mainstream adoption of ENS domains and the simplicity they offer, like easy readability.
ENSbug.eth tweets: “We're excited to share that '1W3 - ENS Website Resolver' now supports Arweave. This update ensures the resolution of .eth domains with Arweave content hash. Shoutout to @eth_limo for quickly responding to our request to implement Arweave support in their DoH API.”
What’s happening: ArDrive “Wrapped” 2023

DeChat Launches Rust-Based Backend Project for Enhanced Multichain Data Integration
Introduction to DeChat's Backend Project
DeChat is embarking on a new development project for its backend, leveraging the Rust programming language. This initiative is focused on creating a service code that will function as a data cache and aggregator for the DeChat platform.
Multichain Data Integration Challenge
Given that DeChat operates across multiple blockchain networks, there's a critical need for a system that can efficiently gather and integrate data from these varied sources. The aim is to create a seamless and cohesive user experience, despite the data being sourced from different blockchain networks.
Technical Specifications of the Project
Programming Language: The project is being developed using Rust (referred to as #rustlang), known for its performance and memory safety capabilities.
Frameworks Used: Utilizing Actix Web and SqlX, the project aims to maximize speed and efficiency while ensuring robustness and safety in data handling.
Project Goals: The key objective is to ensure that DeChat's backend can handle large-scale data from various blockchains, threading them together into a unified and coherent whole.
Invitation for Rust Enthusiasts
DeChat encourages those interested in large Rust projects or in blockchain technology to explore this new backend development. It presents an opportunity for developers and tech enthusiasts to engage with cutting-edge technology in the growing field of decentralized communication.
This new project by DeChat represents a significant step in addressing the complexities of multichain data management, crucial for the platform's scalability and user experience.
For those curious:
The Rust programming language helps you write faster, more reliable software. High-level ergonomics and low-level control are often at odds in programming language design; Rust challenges that conflict. Through balancing powerful technical capacity and a great developer experience, Rust gives you the option to control low-level details (such as memory usage) without all the hassle traditionally associated with such control.

Glosseta Focuses on Layer 1 Blockchains: The Foundation of Web3
Glosseta's Concept of the Week
Glosseta has chosen Layer 1 blockchains as their #ConceptOfTheWeek.
Understanding Layer 1 Blockchains
Definition: Layer 1 blockchains are the base layer of the blockchain architecture, like Ethereum and Bitcoin.
Role in Web3: These blockchains act as the foundational chains powering various aspects of the web3 space.
Key Use Cases of Layer 1 Blockchains
Crypto Transactions: Layer 1 blockchains facilitate the buying, selling, or trading of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ether.
NFT Marketplace: They enable the purchase, sale, and trade of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), which can represent digital art, collectibles, or other digital assets - did you know Arweave has its own NFTs called Atomic NFTs?
Decentralized Applications (DApps): Some Layer 1 blockchains allow the deployment of smart contracts, which are mini-apps that can power larger decentralized applications. Did you know that Arweave also has smart contract functionality?
idOS Co-Founder Discusses Decentralized Identity in Web3 on BanklessDAO Space"
idOS Vision in Web3
In a recent X Spaces session hosted by Bankless, Lluis Bardet, CGO and co-founder of idOS and Ilia Polosukhin, co-founder of NEAR Protocol, delved into the relevance of idOS's vision in the current web3 landscape.
Decentralized Identity: A Core Concept
Shift from Centralized to Decentralized Identity: Bardet emphasized the transition from traditional identity models, where companies own and potentially trade user identifiers, to a decentralized approach enabled by blockchain and cryptography.
Empowering Users: The key vision of idOS and similar entities in the space of decentralized identity is to return control of identifiers to the users. This change allows users to selectively share their identifiers, enhancing privacy and autonomy.
“[…] then comes decentralized identity, which is what enables these identifiers to not be owned by companies that in theory own your identity and then they can trade(?) with others but thanks to blockchain technology and cryptography now you can have back your identifiers and then can selectively share them”
Universal Application: The decentralized identity model envisaged by idOS aims to enable users to connect their identifiers seamlessly across the internet, breaking down barriers imposed by centralized systems.
“[…]and that is the vision of idos or the vision of any company that is building decentralized identity today which is giving the identifiers back to the user and then allow the user to connect them anywhere on the internet”
Listen to the Full Discussion
For those interested in exploring this topic further, the full discussion is available for listening. It provides deeper insights into how decentralized identity is shaping the web3 world and its implications for users' privacy and data sovereignty.
The session can be accessed through idOS's post here.

Olta’s Inspiring Question…
Olta poses the question on X:
“I’m concerned that people completely disregard ownership and monetisation for original creators of the content & data when using amazing AI tools to create Art! Shouldn’t this licensing problem be sorted soon as? Arweave has a solution with their Universal Data licensing protocol (UDL) that maybe will help address this issue.”
However, just like a human may listen to countless of music in order to create their own pieces of art, is AI, learning from everything that has come so far infringing on copyright, or is it simply being inspired by those artist and their creations?
This is a topic we will explore in a whole different article so stay tuned.

What’s happening: Blogpost about the evolution of Digital Estate Planning
Sarcophagus has shared a blog post highlighting the significant shift towards digital estate planning, particularly focusing on the adoption of electronic wills (E-Wills).
I actually recently talked to my lawyer and he said that wills need to be physical. I guess that’s up until now!
Digital Estate Planning Landscape
Legal Advancements: 14 states, the Virgin Islands, and Washington D.C. have passed laws recognizing the legality of fully digital Wills.
The Rise of E-Wills: This legislative change marks the beginning of a new era in estate planning, where digital processes are becoming increasingly accepted and standardized.
From the blogpost:
“Over the past ten years, the legal framework surrounding digital estate planning has undergone substantial updates.”
“Currently, 14 states, along with the Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia, allow fully digital Wills(E-Wills). This means approximately %32 of the US population can use digital estate plans currently, and marks a significant shift in the traditional approaches to estate planning.”
The digital landscape is in a constant state of flux, with new assets and platforms emerging regularly. From cryptocurrencies and NFTs to digital investments and social media profiles, individuals now possess a diverse range of digital assets that require careful consideration in how they are secured for passing down to an heir. The deliberate and planned approach to Sarcophagus's development mirrors the pace of change in legal structures and societal acceptance of digital estate planning. As we see increasing growth of the digital estate industry, Sarcophagus will likewise mature with a proven history as a secure and reliable tool.”

everVision CEO Outprog Shares Insights in SmartDeer Interview
everVision's Recognition of CEO Outprog
everVision has pointed out an interview with by SmartDeer Global, in which their leader Outprog is praised not only for his leadership role at everVision but also for embodying the core qualities of the Web3 encryption spirit, such as self-motivation, a willingness to explore, and a passion for independence and freedom.
“We have only one vision, so that 1 billion users can really use the blockchain, and can really spread these things that we are now exploring theoretically, and we hope that one day everPay gets used as a way to pay for anything and everything.” - outprog
Key Highlights from the Interview
Journey to Entrepreneurship: Outprog discussed his transition from imToken in 2018 to starting his own venture in a market downturn in 2019. The turning point came after learning about Arweave, which he saw as a potential solution to blockchain’s technical challenges.
SmartDeer: When did you first want to start your own business after joining imToken in 2018?
outprog: Actually it was a coincidence, the whole market was very low in 2019, ethereum was down to 500 RMB, the team I was on was also very low, everyone left, some people rested, some people went back to web2, and finally I was the only one left in the team. In March/April of 2019, Compound, a domestic partner of imtoken, had its tokens stolen, amounting to almost 30 million dollars, which made everyone’s even more depressed.
Attraction to Arweave: Outprog was drawn to Arweave due to its ability to address issues like high user thresholds and expensive transaction fees on the blockchain.
outprog: Coincidentally, two months later, I attended an ethereum meet up organized by Spark Pool, and learned about Arweave, which is the public chain that our project is based on. At that time, I felt that this system seemed to be able to solve some of the technical problems on the blockchain by means of storage, such as the high user threshold and expensive transaction fees. So in a very depressed state, I suddenly saw a bright light and realized that this technology might be a breakthrough point, so I started to think about the direction of entrepreneurship.” -
SmartDeer: Why did Arweave catch your eye so quickly, and how can SCP (Storage-based Consensus Paradigm) solve the problems that blockchain already has?
outprog: After discovering Arweave, I realized that I could replace the paper tape of the Turing machine, i.e. the hard disk of the computer, with a blockchain, which would mean that all my applications would become blockchain applications.
Development Route: Following funding in early 2020, everVision expanded its team and shifted focus to the Singapore market due to regulatory constraints in China. Their product evolved as a financial service within the Arweave ecosystem.
SmartDeer: After the funding, what was the route of development?
outprog: It was March, 2020 when I published the articles, May close off the second round of financing. We began to slowly expand the market staff at September, in fact. At that time we want to operate our business in the Chinese mainland market, but there are a lot of restrictions in China, including laws and regulations are also more and more stringent, so in 2021 we went to Singapore.
On the other hand, the Arweave Ecosystem has been evolving in the course of our entrepreneurial journey, that is, the SCP and Permaweb applications on it are also evolving very well, so it is only logical that our product has become a financial service in the Arweave eco-system. Permaswap is the only DEX (Decentralized Exchange) currently available in the Arweave ecosystem.
At this stage, we have lowered the user threshold to a very low level, so that ordinary users can easily access the entire system. We have been growing very slowly throughout the year from 2020 to 2021, and the volume of transactions may only be 1,000 a day, but in June and July this year, it reached 300,000 transactions in a single day. The core of the breakthrough of the whole transaction volume lies in the fact that we don’t have gas fee, and then small amount of high-frequency payment, and some applications can issue tokens on it after integrating with us or have various interactions with the users and so on, which generates the new incremental volume.
Significant Growth: everVision experienced a breakthrough in transaction volume, reaching 300,000 transactions in a single day, attributed to the absence of gas fees and the introduction of high-frequency, small-amount payments.
Vision for everVision: Outprog envisions everVision, particularly everPay, becoming a ubiquitous payment method, aiming to bring blockchain usage to 1 billion users and integrate it into everyday transactions.
SmartDeer: What is the vision of everVision?
outprog: The name “everPay” implies our vision, that anyone can use it anywhere, everyone, without limitations.
